The 2007 Ford Escape with a 2.3-liter engine requires 4.5 quarts of 5w20 synthetic motor oil, while the larger 3.0-liter engine option needs 6 quarts of the same oil type. Synthetic oil is deemed superior for performance benefits as it safeguards the engine by reducing friction. There is no harm in switching between synthetic and conventional oils. Synthetic blends, consisting of a mix of synthetic and conventional oil, can also be used. Synthetic oil is effective in maintaining engine cleanliness by preventing the accumulation of debris and deposits from dirt particles and metal fragments that can potentially harm the engine during oil circulation.

I changed to synthetic oil in my 6-liter Ford V8, and it started using a liter of oil every 3000 to 5000 kilometers. Since switching back to conventional oil in my Ford Escape, I wouldn't consider using synthetic again because I'm worried it might cause damage to the valves and rings. What do you think about that?

The 2007 Ford Escape gives you a choice between two models of its 2.3L inline-4 engine and the bigger 3.0L V6. For the 2.3L models, they need 4.5 quarts of 5W20 synthetic oil, and for the 3.0L V6, it requires 6 quarts of the same type of oil.
