In 2007, the Hyundai Sonata needs either 5w-20 synthetic motor oil or 5w-30 synthetic oil, with the latter being the preferred option. The amount of oil required depends on the engine size. The 2.4L engine can take up to 4.2 quarts, while the 3.3L engine needs approximately 5.5 quarts. For a full oil change, use between 5 to 5.5 quarts for the 3.3L engine, while the 2.4L engine has a max of 4.2 quarts, but 4 quarts is ideal. Motorcraft 5w-20 semi-synthetic and M1 5w-20 synthetic oil are recommended options for the Sonata.
The 2007 Hyundai Sonata requires either 5W20 (recommended) or 5W30 (acceptable) synthetic oil for its two engines. The 2.4-liter inline-4 engine holds 4.2 quarts of oil, while the 3.3-liter V6 engine requires 5.5 quarts.
I've been using the 3.3L engine for around 4 years now. The manufacturer suggests using 5W-20 oil for the 3.3L engine, but I'm not sure about the 4-cylinder version. It looks like 5-5.5 quarts is the right amount to fill it up.
