The 2018 Nissan Frontier offers a variety of configurations, with a choice between two engines: a 2.5L 4-cylinder or a 4.0L 6-cylinder. If you have the 4-cylinder engine, you'll need 4.9 quarts of SAE 5W-30 synthetic motor oil. For the 6-cylinder engine, the capacity increases to 5.4 quarts of the same oil. In case of an emergency, you can temporarily use SAE 5W-40 conventional oil, but it's recommended to use it sparingly as it may cause the engine to work harder and lead to premature wear. It should be seen as a temporary solution, not a regular choice.
