The 2006 Ford F-350 requires Mercon full synthetic power steering fluid to help make steering your truck easier. This hydraulic fluid is pumped from the reservoir to the steering rack, providing pressure to assist you in turning the wheel. If the power steering fluid is low or the pump is faulty, it can make steering much harder and control more difficult. I suggest checking the power steering fluid whenever you change the truck's oil to ensure it is full and leak-free.
