In 2008, all Nissan Quest models are equipped with the same 3.5L 6 cylinder engine (the VQ35DE). This means that regardless of your vehicle's configuration, you will always require the same type and amount of oil. Specifically, you should use 4.2 quarts of SAE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil. In the short term, if you don't have this type of oil available, you can use SAE 5W-40 instead. However, it is not recommended because oils with higher weights have greater viscosity and are thicker. This can lead to increased friction in your engine, potentially causing premature wear and tear over time. Wear and tear can eventually lead to engine failure, so it is advisable to always use the manufacturer's specified oil with the lowest weight, even if it means spending a little more per oil change.
