The 2018 Nissan Altima offers various trim options such as S, SR, SL, SV, and 3.5 SL. Regardless of the trim level chosen, they all can run smoothly using regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87. There is no advantage in using premium fuel since these vehicles are not designed for it. All trims feature an 18-gallon fuel tank capacity. Models equipped with a 2.5L engine will have a fuel efficiency rating of 27 MPG in the city and 38 MPG on the highway. On the other hand, the 3.5L model will have slightly lower gas mileage, with an MPG rating of 22 in the city and 32 on the highway.
