Depending on the setup of your 2018 Dodge Journey, it may or may not be compatible with Flex Fuel. The 2.4L 4-cylinder engine needs unleaded gasoline with at least 87 octane, while the larger 3.6L V6 engine can also run on E-85 flexible fuel. While using E-85 may save you money on fuel, it could also lower your fuel efficiency. Premium gasoline is not necessary for the Journey, as research indicates it's only beneficial for engines with high compression ratios, unlike the Journey's engine. Using premium gas won't harm your engine, but it's not worth the extra cost since it has no added benefits unless specifically recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer.
The 2018 Dodge Journey is designed to use regular unleaded gasoline for all its trims.
