If you're unsure about what kind of fuel to put in your 2016 Chevy Impala, you should use regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87. If your car has a yellow gas cap, then you'll need to use E85 or FlexFuel. It's recommended to use Top Tier Detergent gasoline in your Impala. The main purpose of fuel is to power your engine so your vehicle can move forward. Without gasoline, your car won't start or move when you step on the gas pedal. Make sure to keep your vehicle fueled up, ideally above a quarter tank.
Could there be any issues with my car if I use premium gasoline in it?
Different trims of the 2016 Chevy Impala require different types of fuel. The LS w/1LS, LT w/1LT, LT w/2LT, and LTZ w/2LZ models all run on regular unleaded gasoline. The LS w/2FL CNG and LT w/3LT CNG models, on the other hand, are designed with a bi-fuel system that can be filled with either regular gasoline or compressed natural gas (CNG).
