In the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, there are three different engine setups available. You can have either a 4.8L V8 engine or one of two 5.3L V8 engines - one running on Flex Fuel and the other on regular gasoline. All three engines require SAE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil, and each should be filled with 6.0 quarts. If you can't find SAE 5W-30, you can temporarily opt for SAE 5W-40, but it's not the best choice. Using a thicker oil like SAE 5W-40 can create more friction in your engine, leading to premature wear and tear and potentially early engine failure. It's not wise to cut corners by choosing cheaper oil during your oil change, as it could end up costing you more in the long run.
