The 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350 comes with a 3.5 L V6 engine that requires SAE 0W-40 FS Synthetic European Motor Oil in any weather condition. The car can hold up to 8.5 quarts of oil with a filter, and the drain plug should be tightened to 22 ft/lbs of torque. The 0W-40 designation means that the oil is thin enough for cold temperatures (the 0W) and maintains proper viscosity at operating temperatures (the 40). For the E350, it is recommended to change the oil and filter every 10,000 miles or annually, whichever comes first. Changing the oil is a quick task that can be completed in less than 15 minutes. Necessary tools include a drain pan, gloves, and a ratchet.
Mobil 1...either 0w-40 or 5w-40 will work just fine. I had a conversation with Mobil 1 last year. I started using Mobil 1 in my brand-new Chevy back in 1979. I drove that car for over 400,000 miles and eventually sold it to someone else. It never burned oil or lost power.
Is Mobil 1's 0W-40 synthetic oil recommended for European cars superior to Kendall oil?
The recommended oil for the 2008 Mercedes Benz E350 is Castrol Edge 0W-40 full synthetic motor oil.
My manual recommends using Mobil 1 0W-30 oil.
