The oil capacity for the 2010 Kia Forte 2.4 engine is 4.5 quarts, and it requires 5w-20 viscosity oil. Before changing the oil in the car, ensure that it has been parked and turned off for a few hours to avoid getting burnt from the hot oil. Locate the oil pan and drain plug underneath the engine compartment. Place a bucket underneath and remove the plug to allow the oil to drain completely, which may take about an hour. Once it's done dripping, replace the drain plug and find the intake port on top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the oil pan to the full level, being careful not to overfill. It's better to have a bit less oil than too much to avoid leaks and burning off oil. Close the port securely, clean up any spills, and you're all set.
In my opinion, I suggest replacing the Pcv valve on all Kia 4-cylinder cars annually. These valves are inexpensive and easily accessible. They tend to deteriorate quickly, leading to oil consumption issues.
The recommended oil for the 2010 Kia Forte is synthetic motor oil with an SAE rating of 5W-20.
