The 2008 Honda Pilot was equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine as standard on all trims, and it needed synthetic 5W-20 motor oil. A lot of Pilot owners opt for the original Honda oil for optimal performance. This engine holds 4.5 US quarts of oil, including the filter. To remove the oil drain plug, you will need a 16mm socket wrench and apply 22 ft/lbs of torque.

The 2008 Honda Pilot suggests using a high-quality 5W-20 detergent oil that has the API Certification Seal. You can also opt for a synthetic motor oil as long as it meets the criteria for a conventional motor oil by having the API certification seal and the correct weight.
