No matter which engine you choose, you should use SAE 5W-20 full synthetic oil; however, temporarily switching to SAE 5W-30 is acceptable. Keep in mind that the smaller engine requires 4.5 quarts of oil, while the larger one needs 5.9 quarts. Although you can substitute the oil as mentioned, it's not recommended. Using a thicker oil can lead to premature engine wear and potential failure. To ensure the health of your engine, it's best to stick to the manufacturer's specified oil, even if it's a bit pricier during oil changes.
