When using the 1.6-liter engine, the 2016 Kia Forte requires 4.5 liters (4.75 quarts) of SAE 5W-20 motor oil. For the 2.0-liter engine, it needs 4 liters (4.2 quarts) of the same viscosity oil. Your car is equipped with an oil life indicator that will signal when it's time to schedule maintenance. After an oil change, this indicator must be reset to show 100% oil life. Kia advises changing the oil every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. However, your individual driving habits will determine your maintenance needs. The usual cost for this service at a dealership ranges from $110 to $140, which covers both parts and labor.
The Kia Forte is compatible with both regular and synthetic motor oils of 5W-20 or 5W-30 viscosity, based on the conditions of your driving environment.
A blend of synthetic and conventional motor oil, each making up 50% of the mixture.
