The engine requires synthetic 5W-20 or 0W-20 motor oil, with 5W-20 being the preferred type. The oil capacity is 4.2 US quarts including the filter. As this is slightly more than one gallon, it's advisable to buy a 1.25-gallon jug to ensure complete filling and save some money.
