The turbocharger for the 2018 Subaru WRX is situated on the exhaust side of the engine, towards the passenger side. Replacing it is a manageable task, but it can be expensive. On average, a new turbocharger costs around $1200, with labor adding another $400. If you choose to tackle the replacement yourself, you'll need to disconnect the wires and remove the securing bolts. The old turbo should then slide out easily. Install the new part, reattach the connections, and you're good to go.
