In a 2011 Ford F-150, the Audio Control Module is essentially the factory radio system, situated behind the center dash panel near the CD slot. If you're experiencing sound issues in your truck, the ACM is likely the culprit. To replace a faulty unit, it's advisable to opt for a factory replacement and simply swap out the components. However, due to Ford's design, substituting the ACM with an aftermarket radio can be challenging because the climate controls are integrated into the faceplate. While you can purchase a dash install kit to replace the entire panel and use any radio you prefer, the installation process is complex and the kit is pricier compared to similar options for other vehicles.
