The 2006 Ford F-150 did not have a built-in auxiliary input. To add an aux port, you will need to connect a third-party cable to the back of your original head unit. The auxiliary button on your dashboard lets you change the source to satellite radio or a third-party adapter if you have one. Installing an aux port is a straightforward process. You just have to remove the dash and radio, then attach one of the many third-party kits available to the back of the unit. After that, you can route the aux port to a convenient location and use the dashboard aux button to choose it as the source.
My 2006 F-150xlt is lacking an auxiliary input on the right side. Do you have any recommendations for a solution?
It will be located on the front corner of the tray on the side where the driver sits.
