The 2003 Mitsubishi Galant's blend door actuator is located on the passenger side of the air handling system, towards the right and back of the radio. To reach it, you'll need to remove the glove box, radio trim, and radio. These devices, also known as HVAC actuators, are small electric motors that regulate the mix of hot and cold air in the passenger areas by controlling the vent doors' opening and closing. If one of these actuators malfunctions, you might experience either cold air without heat or hot air without cold air. In some cases, there may be a total absence of both heating and air conditioning in the passenger compartments.
