The 2003 Ford F-150 doesn't come with a body control module (BCM) but instead has a generic electronic module (GEM) that performs similar functions. The GEM manages features like the battery saver, heated rear window, driver's one-touch window motor, daytime running lamps, four wheel drive, interior lighting, and remote keyless entry. Locating the GEM is a challenge as it is positioned behind the engine compartment fuse panel and requires dismantling the driver's side lower dash, including the kick panel and various components like the emergency brake release. This task is complex and not recommended for inexperienced individuals. It's advisable for those lacking confidence in their abilities to seek the help of a professional mechanic instead.
The 2003 Ford F150 body control module can be found at the rear of the fuse box beneath the dashboard.
