The 2003 Chevrolet Malibu is unique in that it does not have a location for a cabin air filter. Instead, it uses a plastic mesh to block leaves and debris from entering the HVAC system. This plastic mesh does not require replacement. However, newer models like the 2013 Malibu do use a cabin air filter, which is typically found behind the passenger glove box or below the windshield in the engine compartment. While the plastic mesh in the 2003 Malibu is permanent, most other vehicles' cabin air filters should be replaced every 30,000 miles or so.
The cabin air filter for the 2003 Chevy Malibu can be found within the vehicle, situated behind the glove compartment.
