To find the cabin air filter in a 2004 Chevy Silverado, look beneath the glove box on the passenger side. You'll need to take out the glove compartment to replace the filter. A new filter can cost between $10 and $30, depending on the brand and whether it's aftermarket or OEM. It's recommended to change the filter every 30,000 miles or if you detect a musty smell inside your truck, indicating it's time for a change. Sometimes, the A/C condensation can cause the filter to mold, leading to an unpleasant odor. Remove a few bolts and screws to access the filter, and have a Phillips screwdriver and ratchet/socket set handy.
The position of the cabin air filter on a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 is either behind the glove box under the dashboard, or it may also be located near the back under the hood of the truck.
