Hey there, let's kick things off by mentioning that Nissan put out a notice about an issue with the Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 2 on the 2004 Nissan Quest. This notice came out on May 24, 2004, and even though the official service period has passed, it's still good to be aware. If you're experiencing a problem with Bank 2, you'll get a trouble code of P0345, and for Bank 1, it'll be P0340 – both occur quite frequently. Now, if you're popping the hood and checking things out from the front of the vehicle, Bank 2 is going to be on the right side of the engine. You might need to peek past some tubes, but you should be able to spot it up near the top of the engine, close to the camshaft.
The camshaft position sensor for a Nissan Quest is positioned above the starter motor.
