The 2014 Honda CR-V Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor is located on the right side of the engine towards the back of the valve cover, close to the intake manifold. This sensor can be found beneath the timing chain cover in front of the cylinder head. Its main job is to determine the camshaft's position in relation to the crankshaft. Signs that the sensor may be faulty include the engine light turning on, difficulties starting the vehicle or the car not starting at all, and experiencing jerking or surging when accelerating. If you need to replace the CMP, it could cost anywhere from $25 to $75, depending on whether you choose an OEM or aftermarket part.
Hello there, I have a question about my 2014 CRV - do I need to purchase two camshaft sensors for it? I contacted a dealer, and they informed me that I need to buy two since this vehicle is equipped with two camshaft position sensors. Could someone please offer some advice on this matter?
