In a 2016 Ford Fusion, the canister purge valve can be found towards the rear center of the engine compartment, right by the throttle body. It is fastened with two 8-millimeter hex head bolts that must be loosened when changing it out. To begin, disconnect the electrical connector located at the top by lifting the tab and gently pulling out the connector. Then, remove the vacuum line at the bottom by using a flat blade screwdriver to press on one of the tabs on the side and withdrawing the hose. Sometimes, the valve may have a slightly stuck o-ring at the bottom, so wiggle it while lifting to detach it.
