In a 2014 Dodge Caravan, you can locate the coolant temperature sensor underneath the air intake pipe, near the back of the right side of the cylinder head. This sensor is responsible for monitoring the temperature of the coolant. It transmits this data to the ECU, which then adjusts the speed of the water pump to ensure proper coolant circulation in the engine. A malfunctioning sensor will trigger the check engine light on your dashboard and cause your temperature gauge to malfunction. Replacement of the sensor is crucial in preventing engine overheating.
