The coolant temperature sensor for the 2008 VW Jetta 2.5 is positioned near the radiator on the lower hose to monitor coolant temperature and prevent overheating. If the coolant level is low, the sensor will alert you to top it up. To change the coolant, start by locating the radiator in front of the engine compartment. The radiator will have a clear or black plastic reservoir attached to it, which contains the coolant. This reservoir has a drain plug, fill plug, and dipstick for measuring the coolant level. To top up the coolant, simply add more to the reservoir. For a complete flush, open the drain plug to let the old coolant flow out into a bucket. You can add water to help with the flushing process. Once the water runs clear, close the drain plug, fill the reservoir to the recommended level marked by the dipstick, and replace the cap securely.
