In the 2013 Chevrolet Captiva, you can locate the crankshaft position sensor on the crankshaft near the bottom of the engine block by the starter. This sensor plays a crucial role in controlling the engine timing. If it malfunctions, you may receive a P0335 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) from the ECU, and your check engine light (CEL) will come on to alert you. Signs of a problem may include the engine not starting or running roughly. If only the wiring is faulty, your tachometer won't show any RPM reading. Fortunately, replacement sensors are affordable, typically priced between $15 and $20 on Amazon. Swapping out the sensor is a straightforward task, as it is secured by a single bolt and has only one wiring pigtail connection.
