To adjust the brightness of the Honda Element's dashboard lights, you can use the small knob located on the driver's info panel. The knob is on the right side of the cluster and also functions as the trip odometer button. To dim the instrument panel lights, turn the knob counterclockwise. To brighten them to the maximum setting, twist the knob clockwise. The interior lighting will stay at the "MAX" setting regardless of whether the headlights are on or off. If you move the knob one notch to the left, it will beep and stay at the MAX setting but dim when the headlights are turned on. You can push the odometer button to see the "main" or "trip" readings, as well as the outside temperature.
Hey there. If you own a previous model, this won't work for you. On my '04 model, you need to press (not twist) the knob located on the LEFT side of the speedometer multiple times to change the brightness of the dashboard lights. Don't try to twist them! Refer to your manual. The suggested method might be right for other versions, but not for the '04 LX. Appreciate it.
The Honda Element can have its dimmer switch located in two spots: either on the steering column or as a button on the main console dashboard.
