Ensuring that the fluid levels are correct and free of debris is crucial. If you notice very dark or shiny fluid, it could indicate potential issues with the transmission gears. Monitoring your transmission is vital as replacing it can be quite costly if it malfunctions.
The dipstick is located at the front of the transmission underneath the truck.
The dipstick for a six-speed transmission is located on the passenger side of the transmission itself. It resembles a lug nut. Before checking the fluid level, remove the nut from the yellow stick. Position it carefully until it clicks into place, then pull it out to view the level. It can be challenging to access without a lift.
