In current cars like the 2006 VW Passat, the electronic parking brake control module is located in the center console near the gear shifter. This component manages the electronic parking brake, which replaces the old system that used a physical cable connected to a handle or pedal. The electronic parking brake locks the brake using an actuator instead of a cable. Remember to activate the parking brake whenever you come to a stop to prevent your car from rolling in case the transmission accidentally shifts out of gear.
The parking brake module location for a 2006 VW Passat is inside the trunk, situated behind the right compartment and positioned just to the left of the fuse box.
