In a 2016 Dodge Charger, the EVAP canister is located at the top of the rear passenger wheel well. If you are experiencing emission problems with your vehicle, this component is likely the cause. Replacing it is a common maintenance task for most cars. To access the canister, begin by raising the car with a jack. Ensure the jack is positioned at the designated point just in front of the rear tire on the underside of the frame. Next, remove the lug nuts by turning them counterclockwise. Take off the tire and set it aside before removing the inner splashguard from the wheel well, which is secured by multiple clips. Once the splashguard is removed, locate the canister above the shock absorber. It is attached with two bolts at the back and two at the front.
The 2016 Dodge Charger has its evap canister, also called the purge valve, situated above the rear of the muffler.
