In a Mercedes Sprinter, the back pressure sensor is situated towards the rear of the engine by the firewall on the right side of the turbo. This sensor incorporates a potentiometer to adjust the voltage detected by the CDI control unit when there are fluctuations in exhaust back pressure. If you notice a loss of power, sluggish acceleration, unresponsive throttle or find yourself stuck in limp mode, the sensor might be faulty. To replace it, you'll require a 27mm deep well socket, a ratchet, and a new sensor, which typically costs about $75, depending on your source. To swap it out, first disconnect the electrical connection, then use the socket to unscrew the sensor in a counterclockwise direction. Remove the old sensor and install the new one, taking care not to cross-thread it. Tighten it by hand first and then give it an additional quarter turn.
The exhaust back pressure sensor for the Mercedes Sprinter is located at the rear of the turbo, positioned between the turbo and the EGR system.
Can you tell me where the part is located in a 2016 Mercedes Vito?
