The factory amplifier in the Chevy Traverse is situated beneath the dashboard on the driver's side, near the steering column. If you're experiencing issues where the speakers aren't functioning or just the tweeters in the pillars are working, it's possible that the amplifier is faulty. Rather than immediately taking out the amp, it's advisable to first check the amp fuse located in the passenger compartment fuse box, specifically at the bottom right. Additionally, it's worth examining for water damage that could have caused an electrical short, a frequent occurrence near the front windshield or the rear doors. Securing the amplifier in place are three 7-millimeter bolts that can be loosened with a standard socket and a deep well socket. The most accessible bolt to reach is the one closest to you, while the bolts near the firewall might require a bit more effort to access, with the top one being the most challenging.
That spot isn't in my 2012 Traverse AWD LT. I've checked behind the radio too, but it's not there either. Where else should I look?
Have you ever had trouble finding a location? I'm experiencing the same issue, and even Chevy is clueless.
