In the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, the fuel filter is located on top of the fuel tank and is integrated into the fuel pump assembly. Even though it's not meant to be replaced on its own, General Motors has made it easily accessible through a door under the rear seats, so you don't have to drop the tank. If you're experiencing problems that you think are due to a clogged fuel filter, it's more probable that your fuel pump is failing or there's an issue with the fuel pressure sensor. Since the fuel filter is built to last a lifetime, you usually won't have to worry about replacing it.
