The fuel filter in a 2001 Toyota Echo is integrated into the fuel pump located inside the gas tank. To access it, first, lift the front edge of the seat cushion to release the holding clips. Then, thread the seat belt latches through the seat slots. It's recommended to have an air compressor with a blower attachment to clear any debris from above the access cover. Use a pry tool to raise the panel, which is secured with strong adhesive. After removing the panel, use compressed air again to prevent debris from falling into the tank. Disconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines connected to the sending unit. A 10-millimeter socket will be needed to remove the bolt securing the pump.
In the 2001 Toyota Echo, you can find the fuel filter inside the gas tank, towards the rear left side of the car.
