To replace the fuel filter on a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander, you'll need to access it inside the gas tank along with the fuel pump located beneath the rear seat. Start by removing the rear seat and lifting up the carpet to uncover the inspection panel. Using a pry tool may be necessary to lift the panel due to adhesive. To prevent debris from entering the tank, use an air compressor with a blower attachment to clear the fuel pump's top. Then, disconnect the electrical connector and fuel line, using a flat blade screwdriver to pry up the retainer clip. Remove the nuts securing the fuel pump to the tank, then lift it out. Finally, disassemble the fuel pump to replace the filters.
The fuel filter for the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander can be found on the driver's side of the vehicle, just in front of the back wheel when facing towards the rear of the car.
