On the 2006 Ram 1500, the fuel pressure regulator is built into the fuel pump and filter assembly, making it non-user-serviceable. It should not be replaced periodically and, if there are issues, it requires a complex process to swap it out. Accessing the full assembly involves dropping the fuel tank. While some drivers may suggest that replacing the regulator can enhance throttle response, this is a misconception. The regulator either functions properly or not, and replacement is only necessary if it fails. To replace it, the entire assembly should be swapped out by a trained professional.
