In the 2000 Volkswagen Jetta, you can find the fuel pump relay under the driver's side dash. A defective relay can cause engine problems by cutting off fuel supply, leading to issues like loss of power, difficulty starting the engine, lack of usual pump noise, and even a risk of fire. If the relay malfunctions while the car is running, it can shut down power to the fuel pump, resulting in the engine stalling. A faulty relay might allow the car to restart briefly, but a completely failed relay will not.
The fuel pump relay for a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta can be found positioned along the side of the fuel tank.
