In a 2004 Kia Sorento, the fuel pump reset button can be found under the hood on the driver's side, near the radiator reservoir and between the intake filter and left fender. It is a black button similar in size to a quarter. This button is used to reset the fuel pump in case of an accident or other event. The purpose of the fuel pump reset switch is to cut off fuel supply in the event of a crash to prevent fires. If the fuel pump shut off switch is not functioning properly, one of the initial signs might be the engine stalling unexpectedly while driving. If this happens, you can reactivate the fuel pump by locating and pressing the reset button for the switch.
