In a 2005 Chevy Equinox, the idle air control valve can be found at the back left side of the throttle body assembly. There are several potential engine issues to watch out for. Keep an eye out for spark plugs popping off, which can cause problems. Check for loose gaskets that may need tightening. Engine overheating is a serious concern as it can lead to car fires and even explosions. Be mindful of excessive oil consumption, requiring prompt oil changes. Replace the air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, and change the coolant every 60,000 miles. Typically, spark plugs should be replaced every 100,000 miles unless they are copper, in which case they should be changed every 30,000 miles or so.
