The idle air control valve in the 2006 Ford F-150 is located on the driver's side inside the throttle body, which is in the manifold on the passenger side. If your valve is failing, you may experience a rough idle, shaking, and potentially stalling when your car is at a standstill. The valve regulates the amount of air entering the engine, so if there is not enough air, combustion can't happen properly, causing the shaking. If no air gets through at all, the engine could fail completely.

The iac valve can be found on the back of the throttle body on the left side for the driver.

Incorrect! The 2006 4.6L 2-valve engine does not have an IAC. It operates using fly-by-wire technology.
