The fuel cutoff switch, also called the inertia switch, in the 2008 Mazda3 is located on the passenger side in the footwell, next to the transmission hump. It is designed to stop the fuel pump in case of a sudden stop. If the switch turns off unexpectedly, you can press the button to reset it. Look for the clearly marked button, which may be a different color. You may need to turn the key to the on or accessory position to reset the switch.
