It is situated directly in the engine block, adjacent to the top of the cylinder, ensuring it can detect any excess vibration known as engine knock that may happen during fuel consumption. If you need to replace it, the process is quite straightforward. It is crucial to address any issues promptly, and the entire task shouldn't take more than an hour. Start by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery and then the wiring harness of the knock sensor. After unscrewing the sensor, install a new one that has been pre-treated with anti-seize compound and reconnect the wiring harness. Reattach the battery, and you're all set.
