In the 2006 Honda Ridgeline, the mass air flow sensor is located on the air intake's right side within the air cleaner housing. This sensor is a small plastic device with wires attached to it. Its main function is to measure the incoming air volume to optimize the engine's combustion process based on airflow speed. If you observe that your engine is running roughly, it may indicate an issue with this sensor. Typically, a malfunctioning sensor triggers a check engine light, alerting you to a problem detected by the ECU. Replacing a faulty sensor is a straightforward task and is usually inexpensive, costing less than $100.
The mass air flow sensor can be found in the intake air duct on the right side of the air cleaner housing at the back left corner of the engine compartment.
