In the 2010 Chevy Impala, there's a safety switch in the engine bay. To access it, first go to the front of your car and use the prop arm on the passenger side to lift the hood. Look inside the transmission case or in the gear shifting linkage to locate the switch. If it needs to be swapped out, the parts will run you $30 to $85, while getting it done by a mechanic will cost around $120 to $200 for labor.
The neutral safety switch for the 2010 Chevrolet Impala can be found on the transmission housing.
