In a 2018 Honda Civic, the OBD II port is located below the driver's side kick panel, next to the fuse box. This port, which is connected directly to the car's computer, allows a scan tool to be plugged in to read and clear fault codes. It features a standard 16-pin J1962 female connector found on all vehicles. Various diagnostic scanners are available on the market, with cheaper options only capable of reading fault codes, while pricier ones can also interpret the codes and enable users to reset them.
