For the Ford EcoSport, the oil filter can be found under the passenger side near the oil pan, positioned beneath the intake system and alongside the alternator. Access it from under the vehicle. If you're changing the oil, be sure to also replace the oil filter, which typically costs between $10 and $20 depending on the brand. To make the process easier, consider getting an oil filter socket. When tightening the drain plug, be careful not to over-tighten or strip it to prevent oil leaks; the recommended torque is 30 ft/lbs. You have the option to use traditional or synthetic oil, but synthetic is more efficient as an engine lubricant and requires less frequent replacement compared to conventional oil.
The oil filter on a Ford EcoSport could be positioned either inside the gas tank, where it's maintenance-free, or found in the center beneath the car, near the oil pan along the fuel line.
