The 2002 Nissan Pathfinder's PCV valve is located at the rear of the engine on the passenger side. It is connected to the valve cover by a hose and secured with a clamp. Signs of a faulty PCV valve include decreased fuel efficiency, increased fuel usage, and rough engine idle. A blocked or leaking valve hose may result in a vacuum on the intake side of the cylinder head, preventing the ECU from receiving proper fuel level information for the engine. This situation can cause the engine to experience either lean or rich fuel mixtures.
You can locate the PCV valve underneath the lower intake manifold in the back right area of the 2002 Nissan Pathfinder.
