Most 2016 Dodge Challengers are equipped with an advanced electric power steering system, unlike older vehicles that used a hydraulic pump system. This new system replaces the traditional power steering fluid reservoir with an electric motor directly mounted to the rack and pinion. The only model that retains the standard hydraulic system is the Hellcat. The electric system offers more flexibility in adjusting power steering based on various factors such as speed, conditions, and driver input, whereas the previous system responded mainly to engine rpm.
The power steering tank on a 2016 Dodge Challenger can be found towards the front of the engine on the left side, where the driver is seated.
